You’ve got 1 minute to blow their minds! 30 developers and designers - If you have the knack for turning ideas into reality come and show your talent. Brush up on your skills, gain new expertise, and add another product to your portfolio! 48 hours - Pushing your limits only props up creativity and original thinking. 6 outstanding ideas preselected - No one is an underachiever at BeMyApp. If your idea is not one of the preselected, come back and pitch it again at the next WeekEnd! Network - You will get an opportunity to meet and collaborate with fellow doers and makers. What to expect? Expect to find the complimentary skills you’ve been searching for at every other tech event you’ve gone to. Be open, share your ideas and don’t hold back – “Ideas without actions are usually called dreams” Expect to meet super talented and inspiring people, to work under time pressure, to sleep little, and to dedicate the whole weekend! Expect to gain valuable feedback and insight not only from your teammates but also from other participants and the all-star panel of Judges. Apart from seeing your project turning into a shiny demo, which is a reward on its own, expect to win prizes that will help you get that sexy app out the door and into the Android Market. Friday The app race starts on Friday night with idea movers presenting their Android ideas in 1 minute pitches.. Voting and Preselection Upon arrival at the registration desk each developer and designer receives 3 tokens, later used for voting. Sneak a peek at the color-coded badges when you chat with people. It will help you navigate through the crowd and distinguish the developers from the designers, the idea shakers, and the marketers. After the last pitch, developers and designers will have 30 minutes to choose which idea/s deserve their tokens. Idea folks on the other hand will use that time to explain their concept in details and get as much tokens as they can in their bucket. Bear in mind, it’s a jungle and you better not be the shy type! Once the time is up we will count the tokens and announce the 6 six ideas that will be developed during the BeMyApp WeekEnd. Teams Next step is building the teams or as we call it - the “speed dating”. Developers, designers and super powers folks (marketers, artists, business capacities, etc.) will chat once again with the 6 preselected idea generators, brainstorm and choose which team to join. This also is the time to discuss and determine the app ownership shares between each other and get prepared for 48 hours of fierce work and play. WrApp it Up Idea tanks are fueled and the race is on! Coding, drafting, sketching, mocking all on full speed! Our BeMyApp team will send out the full agenda of the weekend to the idea generators. By next morning we will ask them to submit a short list with the full names and roles of each team member. Saturday The venue will be open in the early morning. At noon we’ll gather you as a team for the first video checkpoint – brief few words from each team member and a short intro of the app. In the evening, at 8:00 p.m., are the in-house demos. You will present the project in front of all other teams and answer questions, get feedback and become more confident for the final demos on the closing night. Sunday At 12:00 p.m., during the second video checkpoint, we’ll ask each of the 6 competing teams to showcase the progress of the projects and demo the prototypes. Final demos and Jury You’ve rehearsed, prepared and ready to blow away the Judges and the crowd with the final presentation. You will have exactly 5 minutes to demo the app prototype and another 5 to answer questions. Each of the Jury members will give the teams invaluable feedback to help them master the app before submission for approval in the Android Market.
